Position Details

The Higher Education and Skills Group (HESG) of the Department of Education and Training is seeking to appoint a manager for the Industry Skills Analysis Unit:

This position will manage the overall work program and resources of the Unit, including three managers and up to eight research, economic and data analysts.

The responsibilities of the Unit include:

• The ongoing development and maintenance of the Skills First Funded Course List and associated products.

• Developing skills, labour market and economic analysis products, forecasts and tools that are integral to the Funded Course List and associated products.

• Developing data analytics and the research program to provide advice and insight to inform the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of Skills First.

• Managing a wide range of complex data analysis requirements that support strategic and operational decision-making and policy-setting across HESG.

• Driving the development of a Data Governance Framework for implementation across HESG, including standardised data metrics, products, data sharing protocols and data governance.

• Building and maintaining appropriate communication networks and strategic stakeholder relationships, both within the Department and externally in order to proactively design and communicate the unit's products and services.
