Position Details

A key focus of this role is to enable effective budget management by providing direct support and advice to internal clients in the management of their budgets. You will report through and assist a Senior Finance Business Partner in supporting your assigned portfolio of clients across the Department. Core activities of the position include the provision of financial performance analysis, monthly budget management reporting and budget administration activities such as budget system journal adjustments and maintenance of decision records and working papers to support budget allocations. You will also support clients by attending regular meetings to discuss financial performance and provide advice on budget management options and best practice, and by assisting in the development and delivery of budget management training programs to clients.

To be successful in this role you will be customer focused and have a strong background in budget management processes, reporting and budget planning cycles. Financial experience gained within the Victorian government sector is desirable. Your strong analytical skills will be essential in providing monthly reporting analysis and variance commentary within tight timeframes, as well as responding to ad-hoc requests for analysis and reports. Your effective communication skills will allow you provide clear professional verbal and written advice to clients. You will be comfortable working flexibly, dealing with multiple priorities at once and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team and Departmental outcome priorities.
