The Policy and Priorities Unit provides strategic advice and support to the executive team of the Victorian School Building Authority, taking the lead in researching and briefing on infrastructure issues across Victoria’s 1,500 existing schools.

The successful candidate needs to:

• have very strong written communication skills, including ability to draft complex issues into correspondence, briefings, PPQs, fact sheets and presentations

• coordinate activities and consult with subject matter experts across the VSBA/DET (this could include coordinating high level strategic work such as DET responses to the Infrastructure Victoria 30 year plan)

• be comfortable working to tight timeframes, negotiating with stakeholders and dealing with uncertainty within a fast paced environment

• be able to analyse issues/problems to determine policy implications for the Department and across government
