The Department of Education and Training’s Communications Division is looking for a passionate Strategic Communications Adviser to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communications, the successful candidate will be tasked with leading the refinement and delivery of strategic communications plans for 10 Tech Schools. Working closely with two business areas, as well as the Communications Division and individual Tech Schools, you will relish building strong stakeholder engagement relationships, enjoy writing various communications for an array of audiences and impeccable project management skills will allow you to shine in this role.

Position Details

The Tech Schools initiative is a $128 million investment to construct and establish 10 Tech Schools across the state. The 10 high-tech centres of learning use leading-edge technology, discovery and innovation to deliver the advanced education and training that Victorian school students need to flourish in the rapidly changing global economy.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communications, the Strategic Communications Adviser role calls for an enthusiastic comms professional with a passion for stakeholder engagement and a keen eye for detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating across the Department to deliver a priority project at the highest level.

To be successful in the role you will be relied on for your strong communications best practice knowledge, leadership, influencing, collaboration and project management skills. Your ability to establish and maintain meaningful and consultative relationships both within and externally to the Department will be critical.
