Learning and Development Advisor

This role delivers a range of priority learning and development (L&D) initiatives, including: • LearnED (the Department's Learning Management System) • ‘Development@DET’ - the corporate learning and development intranet platform • utilization of professional development programs offered through the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA), and • implementing key programs with the Learning & Development Consultant (VPS5) (e.g., a comprehensive mentoring program). This role also supports the Department’s involvement in the graduate development and recruitment program and the Jobs Youth Victoria cadetship program. Providing practical support to people managers will also be a key priority. This is a fixed term (8 month) full time position.

Position Details

As the successful applicant, you will have experience in implementing organisation-wide learning and development programs, familiarity with graduate-level programs and a good understanding of broader human resource practices, such as recruitment and selection.

In addition, you will be a team player with exceptional skills in collaboration and relationship building, and have the ability to achieve results through building effective partnerships. You will have experience in being a trusted advisor, providing advice and guidance and building successful partnerships with business areas and external stakeholders.

Key to your success will be being results orientated, motivated by driving positive change and excellence at communicating and influencing. Your ability to develop practical, structured and quality approaches to programs aligned to DET's purpose and strategic intent is essential.

The L&D Advisor role is located within the Organisational Development team of People and Culture within the People Division. The People and Culture branch has the responsibility for delivering the Department's people, change, diversity and culture strategies to:

• lead the Department's leadership and capability development programs aligned to DET's Strategic Intent, Strategic Plan and Leadership Charter

• lead initiatives to embed a culture of integrity and accountability, aligned to the public sector values, across all areas of the Department

• provide strategic advice and support to the Department in organisational culture and effectiveness

• support programs to enhance the Department's practices in diversity and inclusion

• support best practice performance management strategies and processes
