Senior Portfolio Services Officer

The Portfolio Services team in the Cabinet, Parliament & Portfolio Services Unit provides specialist advice on briefings and correspondence processes, parliamentary inquiries, royal commissions and appointments as well as managing a range of projects and portfolio coordination services including performance reporting on briefings, correspondence, Cabinet and parliament items for the Executive Board, ministerial international travel and support for the Departmental Liaison Unit. The Portfolio Services team works closely with the Cabinet and Parliament, Departmental Liaison, Freedom of Information, and Knowledge, Records and Privacy teams in EKSD, as well as executives and senior staff from across the Department, to ensure the delivery of high quality items, advice and services to the ministers and Secretary.

Position Details

An exciting VPS5 opportunity exists for a highly motivated team player to join the Portfolio Services Team.

The primary role of the Senior Portfolio Services Officer is to provide leadership, advice and guidance, secretariat support and project management expertise on Portfolio Services matters including incoming government preparation, briefing and correspondence processes, parliamentary inquiries, royal commissions and appointments.

The Senior Portfolio Services Officer will also contribute to the delivery of a range of projects and portfolio services such as the preparation of briefings on non-DET Cabinet submissions and divisional performance reporting for the Executive Board. The Senior Portfolio Services Officer works closely with the Portfolio Services Team Leader and the Departmental Liaison Unit Manager to deliver administrative support functions and resources for the ministers' offices in periods of surge activity or otherwise as required.
