The Department of Education and Training’s Communications Division is looking for a Strategic Communications Adviser to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communications, you will be tasked with leading the development and delivery of strategic communications plans. This role will specifically support a range of communication projects that are focused on initiatives being delivered in Victoria's public school system under the Education State.

Position Details

Reporting to Manager, Strategic Communications, the Strategic Communications Adviser role calls for an enthusiastic person with a passion for communications and a keen eye for detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy collaborating with Communications colleagues to deliver education-focussed campaigns at the highest level.

To be successful in the role you will be results driven and can be relied on for your strong leadership, influencing, collaboration and project management skills. Your ability to establish and maintain meaningful and consultative relationships both within and externally to the Department will be critical as will the ability to deliver outcomes in a complex environment.

The adviser will be specifically responsible for:

• Working with the program area, and Communications Division strategists on the planning of communication

• Delivery on communication plans

• Development of content, and feeding content into DET channels

• Managing external campaigns, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities

Demonstrated understanding of communications fundamentals and integrated campaigns is expected.
