Position Details

This is an exciting and varied role in a busy environment, providing high-level and confidential executive support to the Executive Director, Legal Division. The Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Legal Division provides high-level executive support in the context of a dynamic and collegiate in-house government legal practice. A deep understanding of the requirements and contextual issues that arise from operating in a legal practice is essential to this role, including through understanding confidentiality obligations and excellent attention to detail. Organisational awareness and understanding of departmental policies and processes, is also required. The role involves providing high quality executive and administrative support, management of services for office support, correspondence and record keeping, organisation and coordination of meetings, and application of administrative policies, procedures and protocols. Responsibilities will include diary and email management, coordination of information and work requests across the branches, project support including but not limited to correspondence and record keeping, and application of administrative policies, procedures and protocols. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to create new and improved processes, working collaboratively with the broader executive support team, and will be encouraged to make the role their own.

The Department leads the delivery of education and development services to children, young people and adults both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services, non-government schools and training programs.

The Legal Division is located within People and Executive Services group and provides highly valued legal services across the Department's portfolios including early childhood, schools, higher education, and training and skills
