The Employee Health, Safety and Wellbeing Division (EHSW Division) is committed to the Department's vision to create healthy and safe working and learning environments for Department employees to thrive and succeed.

The EHSW Division performs it functions through five teams that span from prevention, through to response and recovery, along with strategy, advice and support. These teams adopt a holistic approach for supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce across schools, central and regional offices. This includes Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workers Compensation policy advice and support, for both physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Position Details

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the establishment of the Employee Wellbeing Response Team in the Employee Health, Safety and Wellbeing Division.

We are seeking candidates that will provide effective leadership and people management and ensure the delivery of responsive, coordinated, and supportive employee safety and wellbeing services to schools and employees of the Department in relation to complex health and safety risks or. issues.

The Manager will

  • empower and enable the team to provide high quality, responsive advice and technical support to Department employees so that they are provided with the training, supports and services to solve their complex safety or. wellbeing problems
  • act as the lead liaison with other Departmental areas to ensure that the Department provides a coordinated, streamlined response to complex and high risk health, safety and wellbeing issues that present in schools
  • lead the team to deliver early intervention services by identifying and responding to early warning signs and reports of accidents or. incidents by providing help to employees before they develop an injury or. illness
