Position Details

The position plays an important role in bringing an economics perspective to key policy and program initiatives in Victoria’s education and training systems and services.

You will join a small team of public policy economists and operate in an area responsible for developing strategies with a whole-of-Department, system-wide purview. By using your specialist economics skills and knowledge, you will have the opportunity to shape and improve strategy and policy across the whole portfolio of the Department. You will also collaborate with other members of the Division on specific policy projects.   

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Experience in applying economics-both conceptual and empirical-to public policy analysis

• Intellectual ability to develop a quick grasp of complex issues

• Strong focus on delivering solutions and formulating advice

• Mental agility and multi-tasking skills for working in a busy and fast-paced environment

• Excellent writing skills to present ideas and evidence in a clear and logical manner.
