Regional Principal Forum - Senior Events Officer

The Regional Principal Forum Senior Events Officer is responsible for co-ordinating the logistics of a major event. Responsibilities will include full event and conference project management (pre, on the day and post), procurement and facilitation of venue, catering and audio visual services for presentation ceremonies copy writing for communications and promotional requirements of the events, preparing ministerial and event briefs, and liaising with internal and external clients, suppliers, partner organisations and colleagues as necessary to ensure the meticulous planning and implementation of the award and conference programs.

Regional Principal Forum - Senior Events Officer

Fixed Term - Full Time (14 Months)

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated team player to:

  • Identify the objectives of the event and determine the requirements that must be met to accomplish those objectives
  • Liaise with the key people within DET to promote events
  • Meet with teams (e.g. Leadership) to plan event scope and format
  • Co-ordinate services, for example, catering, signage, displays, audio-visual equipment, printing, security
  • Negotiate contracts for services
  • Identifying the event elements, determine their logical sequencing and develop efficient schedules
  • Preparing strategies to ensure that the event site complies with all required legislation and regulations.

 The successful applicant will be able to:

  • Assure brand and language consistency and integrity across all communications initiatives and marketing materials
  • Development and maintain DET's branding and visual identity guidelines
  • Prepare materials for events, including briefings, reports, correspondence, publications, and promotional material
  • Review, assess and develop marketing materials
  • Coordinate and oversee production activities including editing, sourcing content, design/layout and advertising
  • Provide writing and editing support for outbound communication including all promotional materials, and website content
  • Arrange and assist in major and stakeholder events
  • Provide post-campaign/project analysis, budget recaps and participant feedback.
