This role will lead delivery of key components within the Government’s Excellence in Teacher Education reform package, a framework of reforms which seeks to develop excellence in teacher education through improving the selection process into ITE; strengthening alternate pathways into teaching; improving ITE course quality; and fostering the professional development of teachers in their early years of work. Reporting to a manager, this position will support further development and implementation of ITE reform initiatives through: stakeholder management; project management; contract management; reporting; analysis of data sources and evidence-base; and communications. The Professional Practice and Workforce Reform Branch is seeking a motivated individual to translate policy and implement reform in the area of initial teacher education.

This role will provide strategic, evidence-based advice to support delivery of the Government's Excellence in Teacher Education reform package, a framework of reforms which seeks to develop excellence in teacher education through improving the selection process into ITE; strengthening alternate pathways into teaching; improving ITE course quality; and fostering the professional development of teachers in their early years of work.

The Senior Policy and Project Officer position is situated within the Teacher Education Reform Unit which leads policy development and reform implementation in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) in Victoria, working closely with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

This position plays a key role in contributing to the delivery of high profile programs and projects. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career and to have an impact on the Victorian education system
