An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Social Worker to join the Student Support Services team, working in the Southern Melbourne Area, South East Victoria Region. The successful applicant will be required to provide a range of supports to schools within the Casey Area. Flexibility, the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the capability to work autonomously when required, are key requirements for this position.

Position Details

A 0.5 FTE Fixed term position until 22/12/2018 is available for a suitably experienced Social Worker.

This position will be based within the Student Support Services Team, in the Southern Melbourne Area, South Eastern Victoria Region.

The purpose of Student Support Services is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, school and network levels.

Student Support Services comprise a broad range of professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers. Student Support Services work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within networks of schools, focusing on providing group based and individual support, workforce capacity building, and the provision of specialised services.

Student Support Services do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing – particularly our most vulnerable students, and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.
