Position Details

This role reports to the Manager, Improvement Support Unit, which sits within the Improvement and Accountability Branch of the Performance Division, Regional Services Group.

As part of the Government's commitment to make Victoria the Education State, the Performance Division is seeking a Senior Project Officer to support school leaders and regional staff as they work through the Improvement Cycle. The role will also act to support understanding of the FISO more broadly throughout DET.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop and refine resources for schools and regions to support them with strategic and annual planning, monitoring and reporting using the Strategic Planning Online Tool, SPOT. The role will also support capability building of school leaders and regional staff through the co-design, and delivery of workshops. Another aspect of the role will be to work to translate evidence from the evaluation of FISO for a range of stakeholders, including Peak bodies, and broker relationships across DET to inform future policy and implementation directions.

This position will play a project delivery role within a small team that works across the Performance Division. The Improvement Support Unit is client centred and responsive to the needs of schools and regions.

Within this context, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong project management, analysis and relationship building skills. In the role, the successful candidate will learn skills and knowledge around service delivery in a reform environment, stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiating, implementation policy development and adaptive implementation. School leadership experience would be desirable.
