Position Details

This role is situated in the Teacher Education Reform Unit which leads policy development and reform implementation in initial teacher education in Victoria, working closely with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. 

The Unit is responsible for delivery of the Government's Excellence in Teacher Education reform package, a framework of reforms which seeks to develop excellence in teacher education through: improving the selection process into initial teacher education; strengthening alternate pathways into teaching; improving ITE course quality; and fostering the professional development of teachers in their early years of work. 

Reporting to a manager, this position will support the implementation and further development of reform initiatives through: policy translation; stakeholder management; project, contract and financial management; analysis of data and evidence; and high quality written communications, including correspondence, briefings, and case studies, and the development of presentations and web resources.

A key part of the role will involve working directly with the project lead on initiatives to better connect theory and practice in initial teacher education, including through robust and innovative school-university partnership and a focus on professional experience placements.
