Professional Learning Communities Regional Manager

The Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Unit was established in 2016. This Unit works collaboratively to manage and monitor the implementation of the Victorian PLC Initiative including working with regions, recruiting schools, delivering professional learning and providing expertise in PLC implementation within and across schools at Area and Regional level. The PLC Regional Manager supports school leadership teams to implement PLCs through an inquiry approach and enables schools to connect, facilitate collaborative exchange and actively encourage sharing of best practice across the system. The role includes liaison and collaboration across the Department of Education and Training and school based staff and reports to the Area Executive Director.

Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated candidate to undertake the role of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Regional Manager in the Goulburn Area of the North East Region. The position will play a leading role in the coherent and consistent implementation of the PLC initiative, which is part of the Education State Reform Agenda.

The Victorian Government has made a commitment to make Victoria the Education State. The Education State will see the development of a cohesive learning and development system that provides the very best educational opportunities at every stage (from early childhood right through to adult learning). It will also ensure that all Victorians have the skills, knowledge and attributes to shape their future in a changing world regardless of their location, background and circumstance.

The PLC Regional Manager role will support the Education State Reform Agenda by contributing to core work associated with the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO) Excellence in Teaching and Learning initiatives with a focus on PLCs. This will include working with Regional and Area school improvement teams, recruiting schools, delivering professional learning and providing expertise in PLC implementation at a school, cluster and network level. The PLC Regional Manager will be part of the Area-based Learning Places model and report to the Area Executive Director.
