Senior Project Officer-Koorie Team Around the Learner

As Senior Project Officer, Koorie Team Around the Learner, you will work with schools to co-design with agencies and families the appropriate support and strategies for young people and families. You will assist the planning and implementation of a wrap-around service support approach - Koorie Team Around the Learner (TAL) in schools. TAL is used to support students at risk of disengagement from education. Working closely with colleagues in Inclusive Education Professional Practice Branch, you will support selected schools to implement TAL. Your knowledge of issues impacting on Koorie learners and families and your ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Koorie people will ensure that schools have the capacity to better support Koorie Students.

Position Details

The purpose of this role is to support the Koorie Team Around the Learner Manager in leading the planning and implementation of a wrap around service support approach-Koorie Team Around the Learner (TAL) into schools. TAL is used to support students at risk of disengagement from education.

The Senior Project Officer will be working as part of a small, newly established team. The successful applicant will have demonstrated highly developed policy skills and conceptual and analytical ability, influence, negotiation and stakeholder management skills as well as written communication and project management skills.

Key responsibilities include the working closely with managers and senior executives across Regional Services Group, Early Childhood Schools Education Group and key external stakeholders in developing and providing policy and program advice in relation to TAL, and other duties as directed.
