Senior Project Officer

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Project Officer. This position is located in the Integrated Provision and Design Unit which designs, develops and delivers the Department’s integrated provision planning in conjunction with other areas of the Department, including Regional and Area offices. The Unit ensures current and projected provision services are meeting community needs; develops and implements programs and projects that address service provision issues; coordinates school reorganisations, mergers, closures and new schools with a focus on school registration; and manages the Department’s role as the review body for government schools’ regulatory requirements with the VRQA.

Position Details

This role will be responsible for team coordination and development, thought leadership and assisting schools, services and DET offices to develop, interpret and apply policy. Additionally this role will analyse current and projected provision to ensure integrated services meet community needs. The role will is also responsible for developing and implementing programs and projects that address service provision issues by working closely with key stakeholders across DET, including regional offices, other central office Groups, schools, early childhood and skills providers and external stakeholders such as local government.

This role will also provide a primary point of contact for schools and regional staff with queries relating to registration requirements or policy compliance and will also contribute to broader cross divisional projects as appropriate, including responsibility for management of the Department's role as the review body for government schools' compliance with regulatory requirements and school registration activity.
