An exciting opportunity exists for a person to lead the Inclusion, Access and Participation Branch. To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated management skills, an understanding of the education environment and strong policy analysis and interpretation skills. In addition you will have excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communications skills and preferably be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline.

Position Details

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage the Inclusion, Access and Participation Branch who assess the eligibility of children from birth to school entry with a disability and/or developmental delay for additional support. The role is responsible for having processes in place to ensure the family is supported and the support package is appropriate to the needs of the child and his/her family before referral to a provider.

The role also works in collaboration with Area Managers, Divisional Managers and Senior Education Improvement Leaders to:

• Ensure delivery of high quality inclusive education and consistency of policy implementation in early childhood settings and schools

• Support region wide consistency in the implementation of the Program for Students with a Disability

• Support region wide consistency in the implementation of guidance for students of concern with challenging behaviours

The role is also responsible for maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including Early Childhood and School Education Group, Early Childhood Intervention Services Providers and community support agencies.
