Position Details

Working as part of the regional School Nursing Program, the primary responsibility of this role is to work from a social model of health within a school community, to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people aged 10 - 18 years. The Secondary School Nurse plays a key role in reducing negative health outcomes and risk taking behaviour among young people through activities which include health promotion, primary prevention, health education, individual student health counselling and assessment, school development activities and providing a resource and referral service to assist young people in making healthy lifestyle choices.
