Respectful Relationships Liaison Officer

The position supports schools across the Mallee and regular travel is an expectation of this position. As the Respectful Relationships Liaison officer in the Mallee, you will work collaboratively with the Respectful Relationships Project Lead and together support schools in the state catholic and independent sectors. As part of this position, you will also be expected to support the Learning Places Connect Project that operates in the NWVR.

Position Details

This is a fixed term position until June 2020.  The position may be based in Swan Hill or Mildura and part time applications of 0.5 FTE and above will be considered.

The Respectful Relationships Liaison Officer will work as part of multidisciplinary teams in the local areas, supporting schools and networks to prevent and respond to children and young people and staff witnessing or experiencing violence. This role will include providing advice about evidence based approaches and interventions, coordination of response, liaison with specialist servcies as well as working to embed systematic approaches and integrated processes in schools for effective family violence response and referrals.

Experience as an allied health professional and specialist knowledge and experience in the area of family violence is desirable for this role, along with strong stakeholder engagement skills. A comprehensive knowledge of the Victorian education system is also desirable.

In addition, the Liaison Officer will need to have a good understanding of the current issues and opportunities related to family violence intervention and responses, as well as Respectful Relationships, in both early childhood and schools.

The Respectful Relationships Liasion officer will have excellent team work skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders across a vast geographical area in the Mallee.
