SSS team members work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within schools, focusing on providing group based support, workforce capacity building, and the provision of specialised services. SSS do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students, and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage. As a SSS Social Worker, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education.

Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Social Worker to join the Student Support Services (SSS) workforce in the Loddon Campaspe Area. SSS team members work as part of an integrated health and wellbeing team within schools, focusing on providing group based support, workforce capacity building, and the provision of specialised services. SSS do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing - particularly our most vulnerable students, and are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage. SSS staff work collaboratively with schools, students and parents to facilitate improved emotional health and wellbeing for students. As a SSS Social Worker, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education. The multidisciplinary Area-based teams consist of a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers. The successful applicant will collaborate with other SSS team members to provide consultation, assessment, support, and program advice capable of improving teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support. Other key components of the role include highly developed communication including report-writing, networking, and interpersonal skills that enable effective liaison with a range of people in the education community and beyond, and the ability to work autonomously. Required: A graduate or. post-graduate degree in Social Work.
