Provision and Planning Officer

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated team player to support the establishment of new schools primarily in the northern growth corridors of Hume and Whittlesea. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and possess very sound written and verbal communication skills. Development opportunities include collaborating with the Victorian School Building Authority and other parts of the Department, as well as working with builders, architects, project managers, school leadership and the broader community to ensure all aspects of establishing the new school community are in place.

Position Details

Provision and Planning Officer (Greensborough or Coburg) (Fixed Term 1.0 FTE)

This exciting new 12 month position based in Greensborough or Coburg offers a unique opportunity for someone interested in supporting the establishment of new schools, primarily in Melbourne's growth corridors.

The expectations of the role are to:

• Provide additional support to new schools in growth corridors in North Eastern Melbourne and Hume Moreland Areas

• Work with other Department of Education and Training staff (central, regional and school based) to ensure all relevant approvals and registrations are completed

• Be the primary contact for troubleshooting facilities issues and general school set up and support

• Deal with facilities development and management including buildings, furniture, facilities budget and management

• Work alongside principals as an advocate and advisor when dealing with builders, architects, and project manager

• Find and facilitate links and ensure good communication with external stakeholders
