Working as part of a roistered school community and being a pro active team member of the School Nurse Program, to promote a broad social view of health.

Position Details

Location: Central Highlands, Ongoing, Full-time

The Adolescent School Nurse is to provide holistic primary health care to young people in secondary schools through health education, assessment, support, referral and health promotion. The key components include:

  • Health promotion and community development within the school and broader community with a focus on the broad health and social issues facing young people.
  • Facilitation of links between the student, school, and community based agencies.
  • Assessment, referral and support for young people particularly during educational, health and developmental transitions.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of appropriate health related curriculum; and
  • A culturally sensitive service
