SSS Psychologist

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Psychologist to join Student Support Services (SSS) working in the Department of Education (DET) Western Melbourne Area - based at Footscray. You will provide services to students and schools to improve developmental and learning outcomes and support student health and wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with other professionals and support teachers in the development of programs to improve student learning, particularly for students with additional needs. Flexibility, the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the capability to work autonomously when required are key requirements for this position If making a difference is a priority for your work, then working in our team will be of interest to you.

Position Details

Student Support Services (SSS) teams comprises psychologists and speech pathologists and social workers. They are part of a multidisciplinary Western Melbourne Area team building the capacity of schools to support children and young people to access their education. SSS do vital work in supporting students' health and wellbeing – particularly our most vulnerable students – and SSS are critical to building an excellent education system that reduces the impact of disadvantage.

The purpose of Student Support Services (SSS) is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to access their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at an individual, group, school and network level.
