Senior Project Officer

The STEM Unit designs, develops and implements initiatives, programs and resources to support the delivery of the STEM in the Education State plan and the Literacy and Numeracy Strategy. Specifically, it:
designs, develops and extends the VicSTEM website, including the Victorian Numeracy Portal and associated learning and teaching resources that align with the Victorian Curriculum
sets policy direction and provides support for the network of Science and Mathematics Specialist Centres to deliver onsite and outreach student programs and teacher professional learning
designs and implements the Primary Mathematics and Science Specialists initiative to build the capacity of teachers of STEM related areas including reframing the initiatives for alignment to Learning Places and other DET frameworks

This ongoing role contributes to and leads work on the development and implementation of key initiatives including:

  • the Primary Maths and Science Specialists initiative
  • the Victorian Maths Challenge
  • the design of professional learning programs in the STEM disciplines, targeting both in-and out-of-field teachers
  • the development of online resources supporting mathematics, science and STEM-connected learning.
