Senior Project Officer

Working as part of a team, the purpose of this role is to provide: support and policy advice to schools and stakeholders on relevant DET policies and anti-discrimination legislation professional learning and best practice resources to school based staff on creating safe and inclusive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning (LGBTIQ) students support for schools to implement a whole-school approach to preventing discrimination and bullying and supporting LGBTIQ diversity and inclusion.

Position Details

Working as part of the Safe Schools team, the Senior Project Officer will provide advice, support, resources and professional learning to schools on creating safe and inclusive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning (LGBTIQ) students.

Strong presentation skills, excellent stakeholder management skills, and an ability to work effectively within government are essential. An understanding of the experience of LGBTIQ young people at school and/or diversity and inclusive practices in schools is also essential. An understanding of, or. experience in Victorian school education settings is desirable.
