Position Details

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of the languages education program across the region by:

  • supporting school networks to identify needs and provide strategic advice to regional and area management, school networks and school communities about possible approaches to improve and extend languages education
  • monitoring the impact of language education program to support the achievement of Education State targets
  • working with Senior Education Improvement Leaders (SEILs) to plan for a coordinated and sustainable to language education provision in area
  • working in collaboration with the Schools Professional Development Coordinator to facilitate opportunities for schools to come together to address common professional development needs
  • providing advice to government schools on the implementation of languages education policy and languages education delivery
  • identifying and promoting best practice examples of language education
  • working collaboratively with the Virtual Learning Coach to facilitate and support the access to virtual delivery of online language learning opportunities
  • working with the Languages Support Officers across the other regions to identify and promote the latest research and evidence on effective language education strategies

Qualifiactions: A tertiary major in a language other than English and a languages teaching qualification.
