Respectful Relationships Liaison Officer
Inner Gippsland Area is looking for a highly motivated Respectful Relationships Liaison Officer, who will work closely with the Respectful Relationships Project Lead and existing Liaison Officer as part of the Inner Gippsland Area multidisciplinary team, to support the delivery of the Respectful Relationships Initiative, designed to embed respectful relationships education through a whole school/setting approach, consistent with best practice.
This exciting initiative aims to influence attitudes, knowledge and skills and change school/setting policies, practices, culture and ethos.
As part of the statewide Respectful Relationships team, the Liaison Officer will work closely with the Respectful Relationships Project Lead and existing Liaison Officer as part of the Inner Gippsland Area multidisciplinary team, supporting schools and networks to prevent family violence and respond to children and young people and staff witnessing or experiencing violence. This role will include providing advice about evidence-based approaches and interventions, coordination of response, liaison with specialist services as well as working to embed systematic approaches and integrated processes in schools for effective family violence response and referrals.
Liaison Officers will be experienced allied health professionals, with specialist knowledge in the area of family violence, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. A comprehensive knowledge of the Victorian education system is also desirable.
In addition, Liaison Officers will need to have a strong understanding of the current issues and opportunities associated with family violence prevention and respectful relationships education.
This position is a fixed term position until 30 June 2024.
It is essential for the successful candidate to hold a Bachelor degree in Social Science - Social Work, health promotion or related field
