Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists in the South Western Victoria Region for a highly motivated team player with skills and experience in Nursing who can work collaboratively to develop the practice of Health, Allied Health and Educational professionals who support children and young people in schools and early childhood settings. The successful applicant will lead or play a significant role in the development and implementation of state-wide or regional projects that align with the DET Strategic Plan, the priorities of the regional Business Plan and Area priorities.

Being able to think and plan at a strategic level as well as at the implementation level is vital for this role. The Professional Practice Leader- Prevention & Health Promotion will work across DET groups or teams and with other agencies or individuals that provide support or intervention for children and young people so that a coordinated and effective ‘team around the learner’ is developed. He/she will develop strong links with Nurses and also promote cross discipline activities that build skills to encourage a holistic approach to support. A strong presence in the the development of multi-disciplinary teams in the Learning Places area model will be required.
