Assessment Development Manager, Science

The Assessment Development Manager, Science will manage the development and implementation of classroom assessments for students in Victorian schools. The position will lead the development of test content (items) and involve working with new and existing assessments with a focus on the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Science curriculum using digital assessment. The position will work with key stakeholders including internal staff (including curriculum, assessment and psychometric), item developers and contractors to facilitate assessment/test development and implementation. The role will provide strong expertise to ensure content is to appropriate standards of quality. The Assessment Development Manager, Science will also take a lead role in developing materials to support implementation and effective use of these assessments to support teaching and learning.

Position Details

This is a great opportunity to utilise your educational expertise to make a leading contribution to the development of new classroom assessments for use in Victorian schools.


Focusing on the Science learning area, you will drive the development of high quality assessment content. Working closely with item developers, contractors and internal teams you will be a skilled collaborator. A key element of the role will be using your expertise to ensure test content is aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and meets appropriate standards for quality.


You will be working as part of a broad initiative that aims to provide a suite of innovative formative digital assessments to support teaching and learning in schools.
