Position Details

Senior Data Insights Analyst - Ongoing/Full Time

The purpose of this role is to lead a team in data processing, analytical tasks and insights capability to identify trends and potential risks, inform the Division's priorities, and comminuication to VCAA and external stakeholders. This role is to promote the use of data and evidence to assist in the development of relevant strategies for improvement in learning outcomes by:

  • Building capacity in analysing and interpreting and providing insights for student, school, region, and state level data
  • Benchmarking and monitoring geographic location, sector, sub-population categories and socio-economic performance
  • Providing a source of contact for schools and regional staff with questions relating to data collection, analysis and interpretation
  • Ensuring processes are followed to ensure data validation and quality
  • Interpret and communicate data from a variety of sources for use by Executive Directors and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Provide appropriate analyses of data sets, including data sets related to the whole of region or individual areas as well as comparative data sets for networks, LGAs and individual schools

 

To be successful in the position, you will need to be able to work on multiple projects in parallel and develop a good generalist knowledge across a range of datasets available to the team. You need to be comfortable with projects of highly variable scope, from small data requests completed in minutes to projects spanning months that require planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
