Capabilities Curriculum Manager

The key responsibilities of the Curriculum Manager Capabilities are to: • Lead the implementation of the Capabilities as articulated within the F-10 Victorian Curriculum • Lead the research and development of proposals related to the incorporation of the Capabilities into the senior secondary curriculum • Engage in international, national and state developments within the area of Capabilities curriculum design and implementation • Provide support to VCAA staff in the alignment between Capabilities and other Learning Areas • Assist in the development of assessment tools for Capabilities • Coordinate resources and tools to support the implementation of Capabilities within schools • Provide professional development workshops to teachers and leaders to support them in the implementation of the Capabilities within their school learning and teaching plans.

Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated educator to lead the implementation of the Capabilities as articulated in the F-10 Victorian Curriculum. The Capabilities play a significant role in the Victorian Curriculum in equipping young Australians to live and work successfully in the twenty-first century. The successful applicant will have the capacity to further develop resources and assessment tools designed to support teachers successfully embed the Capabilities within their learning and teaching plans. An ability to extend the development of the Capabilities into senior secondary curriculum will be essential.  Experience and expertise in F-12 curriculum development and excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be critical to the success of this role.
