Finance Officer

The 0.4 FTE fixed term Finance Officer, working in the Curriculum Division of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), and reporting to the Senior Manager, will maintain financial records associated with Victorian Curriculum F-10 Program implementation, and prepare the calculations and documentation required to effect payments to Victorian government schools, and salary replacement payments to the schools of Specialist Teachers in 2018. The Officer will work with VCAA staff, the DET Regional Services Group, DET Financial Services Division, and Principals and Business Managers of Victorian government schools. The Finance Officer will be required to provide support for the Program until its cessation on 31 December 2018.

Position Details

 

The Finance Officer will support the financial aspects of the implementation support program for the Victorian Curriculum F-10.This involves close liaision with the DET Financial Services Division, to conduct program financial processes in accordance with the Department of Education and Training's Schools Targeted Funding Governance Model, consistent with the Program Initiative Agreements, and in accordance with VCAA processes.

 

 A major component of the work will be to ensure the reimbursement of government schools for the purposes of supporting teacher curriculum planning and participation in targeted professional learning, and ensuring that salary replacement payments are made to the schools of the VCAA's Specialist Teachers.

 

 The role will involve the preparation and maintenance of financial records, reviewing and making payments for invoices received from schools, and preparation of program budget status reports for VCAA Management .  The Finance Officer will will also work with other Finance staff and units within the Curriculum Division and the VCAA as required.
