We apply standards to education and training providers and accredit courses and qualifications. This is an exciting opportunity to join the VRQA in the role of Senior Quality Assurance officer. Reporting to the Manager, Schools and Senior Secondary (Reviews), this role will undertake reviews, investigations and assessments to determine compliance of schools and non-school senior secondary providers.

Position Details

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) is Victoria's education and training regulator. We are an independent statutory authority that works to assure the quality of education and training in Victoria. We apply standards to education and training providers and accredit courses and qualifications.  We are seeking a VPS5 Senior Quality Assurance Officer, who will contribute to quality and assurance of registered schools in Victoria.

A major component of this role will be undertaking processes to complete school review reports. Working collaboratively with stakeholders and schools and working closely in a small team you will assist in moderatation of assessments, and contribute to ongoing business improvements.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborative processes, an understanding of evidence based decision-making, and risk based quality assurance. You will enjoying working in a small team and have an ability to work with limited supervision. Furthermore, you will bring to the role a desire to share knowledge and build team processes within a well-supported team environment.

As the successful applicant, you will bring to this role;

  • a desire to undertake investigations, reporting on emerging issues, risks and trends
  • a passion to plan and develop quality assurance frameworks, systems and processes to give effect to legislative, regulatory, policy and strategic requirements 
  • a strong aptitude to prepare and present detailed and comprehensive reports, Ministerial briefings and submissions relating to policy and operational issues
  • a talent for managing and reporting on schools' compliance with minimum standards
  • ability to undertake evaluations of the operation of quality assurance framework systems and processes
  • capability to apply regulatory functions to promote continuous improvement
  • strong analytical skills and an ability to analyse complex policy

An understanding of government and independent school sectors and / or. experience in school regulation would be highly regarded.
