Manager | Ongoing/Full-Time

Reporting to the Director, Asset Strategy, the Manager leads a small, high-performing team and provides investment and infrastructure planning advice to senior executives and the Minister for Education.

Infrastructure advice provided by this unit can influence and lead to funding decisions for projects and initiatives and can have direct and immediate impacts to schools, local communities and students. The work is fast paced to a very high quality, and the impacts of the units advice are often felt immediately, providing a rewarding environment. The unit supports strong relationships between the VSBA and key stakeholders on the state budget, including the Minister's Office, senior executive across VSBA and DET, and central agencies.

Key role responsibilities include:

  • Development of business cases to government to seek funding for capital and maintenance funding for school infrastructure projects.
  • Implementation advice for school infrastructure programs and projects provided with funding.
  • Working across the Authority and the Department more broadly to ensure the quality of implementation and the continuous improvement and refinement of policies and procedures.
  • State Budget coordination across the Victorian School Building Authority.
  • Developing, promoting and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic and negotiation skills with experience managing and developing a small high performing team. Government experience will be highly preferable for this role.
