Program Officer

There is an exciting opportunity to work in the role of a Program Officer in the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA).

The purpose of this role is to track and report on the status of the VSBA's asbestos safety programs, which include the Planned Asbestos Removal Program, the Asbestos Incident Response Program and the Permanent Modular Buildings Program. The involves working with program managers to develop and update datasets, and to develop analyses and reports. This work is important to ensuring that the VSBA is delivering its programs on time and on budget.

Position Details

The successful Program Officer will work with several VSBA program managers, as well as the Asbestos Reform Unit Manager, to develop and update datasets regarding asbestos removals in schools. This includes both quantitative data and qualitative data on asbestos condition, asset condition, project schedules, project costs, contractor details, and compliance with OHS regulations.

The Program Officer will also be required to solve problems and develop solutions, such as finding a way to integrate various sources of data into a single dataset, or. identify and resolve data quality issues.

The role requires analytical and communication skills, as the Program Officer is required to help produce user-friendly reports for senior managers and executives.

Experience and skills critical to this role include:

- Management of program and project-related data

- Ability to analyse and present data in various ways (i.e. charts and tables)

- Ability to develop reports for senior managers

- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel

- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Detail focused
