Manager, Risk and Assurance

This role will provide assurance services to audit the delivery of both capital and operational projects and support the management and escalation of risks by:

- Developing standard processes which help inform and document organisational risk tolerance for project/program delivery

- Developing an understanding of the complexity and residual risk associated with capital projects, and ensuring appropriate project approach, governance, controls, processes, project team capability, and suppliers.

- Undertaking regular review of previously completed projects to leverage lessons learned and identify residual risks that are systemic across the organisation.

Position Details

Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Portfolio Management Office, this newly established role will lead the delivery of asssurance services across VSBA with responsibility for overseeing assurance functions for the delivery of both capital and operational projects, and providing specialist support for risk management and escalation processes.

Leading a sizeable team of contract management, risk and assurance specialists, the successful candidate will be a skilled people manager with demonstrated abilities in harnessing individuals' capabilities and maximising the contribution of the team to organisational service delivery.

This people leadership experience will be underpinned by proven expertise in contract management, purchasing and procurement, and a track record of managing organisational audit and assurance services and risk management processes within the context of a comprehensive organisational risk and governance framework.
