Position Details
THE ROLE
Working in the Child Protection Policy and Legislation Unit, you will contribute to policy development, priority projects and initiatives related to improving the statutory Child Protection system. This will involve supporting the Manager and Senior Policy Officers with:
- research activities and preparation of policy papers and briefs
- policy advice for Ministers and department leadership regarding the Child Protection system and the legislation underpinning Child Protection in Victoria,
- coordinating the oversight, monitoring and progress reporting against inquiry, audit and investigation recommendations relating to the children and families service system, and
- designing and implementing quality improvement projects and data analysis.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research.
- Contribute to the development of policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives
- Support team to monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.
