Position Details
THE ROLE
This is an exciting and dynamic role whereby you will be responsible for the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) support to staff, management and Health and Safety Representatives across Victoria.
As part of the role, you will be required to mentor and coach stakeholders to develop OHS strategies to reduce the likelihood of injuries to staff. This work is facilitated through the development and management of fit for purpose OHS Management Systems and solutions and advice to comply with relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guidelines, departmental policies, and procedures.
A critical aspect of this role will be the ability to build productive working relationships with departmental staff, managers and external stakeholders including WorkSafe Victoria, Legal Services, the relevant unions and contract service providers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide leadership and specialist advice to implement actions to improve the health and safety of staff.
- Develop and lead strategies and systems to enhance occupational health and safety, risk management and injury reduction programs. Monitor and evaluate occupational health and safety systems and practices.
- Ensure that consultative processes are followed to improve health and safety by using the relevant tools and systems, including guidelines and policies.
