Position Details
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, Technology Management Office, the Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the financial management of Information Technology Services (ITS) related activities and initiatives within Corporate & Delivery Services (DFFH). This role involves tracking and processing financial transactions, maintaining budgets, managing purchase orders and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the ITS Branch.
The position requires collaboration with DFFH Finance, eHealth, Shared Services and ITS teams to ensure compliance with DFFH financial policies, optimise resource allocation, and support the efficient delivery of ITS services.
The role also includes managing vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and providing financial insights to support decision making and cost management.
This position requires a highly organised individual, with a thorough understanding of departmental processes and the ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment demonstrating the ability to meet diverse and conflicting deadlines.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the IT department's annual budget, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Provide regular reports on IT spending and forecasts, identifying any discrepancies or potential budget overruns.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by ensuring all ITS-related financial transactions are captured accurately.
