Position Details
THE ROLE
This role contributes to the development and implementation of strategic health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) projects and priorities. This will include development and implementation of procedures and guidance for a systematic and consistent approach to the management of employee health, safety and wellbeing aligned with better practice and standards; provision of support to department programs to identify and manage HSW risks; and the development and/or improvement of HSW systems and solutions that are fit for purpose and effective.
The role will interface with a range of internal and external stakeholders requiring strong subject matter expertise and excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
The role will be required to represent the HSW team at relevant internal and external forums, committees and working groups.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Manage and implement projects and priorities in support of the HSW strategic plan to address key HSW risks to the department, including but not limited to psychological health and work-related violence risks.
- Provide sound and strategic HSW advice and expertise to a range of internal and external stakeholders on a broad range of HSW issues.
- Contribute to the continued development, implementation and improvement of the department's health and safety management system (HSMS) to ensure it remains current, fit for purpose and aligns to relevant standards and best practice.
