THE ROLE
This position will work as part of a new team to prepare for implementation and delivery of Victorian Government Redress for people who experienced abuse and neglect in historic institutional settings prior to 1990 (Victorian Redress).
Working in close collaboration with other Victorian Redress teams and applicant support services, the Implementation and Assessment team will work to operationalise the Victorian Redress model endorsed by Government. This will include project, budget, and contract management, recruitment and onboarding of staff including those engaged under labour hire arrangements, and development, implementation and delivery of application and assessment processes.
To support the implementation and service delivery of the program, a key component of the role is to prepare for, implement and deliver the Victorian Redress application and assessment functions. This role will also be expected to provide supervision, support and guidance to Assessment Officers including those engaged through labour hire as required to support the assessment of Victorian Redress applications.
The position is responsible for working with a range of stakeholders, including other Victorian Government departments and jurisdictions, as well as people who have experienced institutional child abuse and neglect.
Please note: this position requires dealing with sensitive material that can be emotionally challenging. This role will best suit resilient and empathetic candidates with experience in dealing with sensitive and distressing material.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and deliver operational and practice initiatives including application and assessment processes to implement the Victorian Redress program and deliver high quality services on time and within budget.
- Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports accordingly, inclusive of data.
- Maintain an understanding of Victorian, national and international legislative and policy reform directions relevant to issues arising from other redress schemes.
