Position Details
THE ROLE
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in delivering advanced casework that supports infants and young children being placed with a permanent care family. This position includes assessment and training of families for permanent care, assessing and preparing children for placement, placement of children, and supporting families both before and after legalisation of their placements.
The role supports permanent care parents to provide children with a family experience that promotes emotional wellbeing and enhances children's capacity to form meaningful relationships as adults.
This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to substantially develop and extend their already highly developed skills and knowledge in a very complex area of work that is not only interesting and diverse but also hugely rewarding.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Assist in running information and education programs (may involve work outside of business hours) and in the development and presentation of educational publicity and recruitment strategies.
- Provide authoritative advice to clients and their families, other agencies and solicitors on the legislation, policies and processes, specialised advice and information to other professionals.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication networks and attend relevant meetings and court proceedings as well as undertake relevant negotiations to ensure the provision of coordinated client services by a range of service providers.
