Position Details
THE ROLE
The Working with Children Check and Information Sharing Services (WISS) team is responsible for responding to requests for information to assist the Department of Government Services to assess and determine applications and re-assessments for the Working with Children (WWC) Check and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Check. In addition to developing responses to information sharing requests, the team also provides specialist advice regarding the development and maintenance of the department's WWCC operational policy, practice, and agreements on the sharing of sensitive information across the department and with external stakeholders.
Reporting the manager of WISS, the team leader will be responsible for providing leadership and management of a team and will be part of the team supporting the appropriate exchange of sensitive information in a systematised and consistent manner in relation to requests for information pursuant to the WWCC and NDIS applications and re-assessments as well as triaging and providing specialist advice on WWCC notices in relation to kinship carers whom DFFH engages and other enquiries.
The role requires excellent analytical, writing and reporting skills, stakeholder management, leadership, project management abilities, and the ability to work flexibility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead a team of staff to ensure the successful delivery of WISS operations through the provision of strategic and operational support.
- Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative program options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research.
- Ensure operational and practice initiatives meet the strategic directions for managing and delivering high-quality services.
