Position Details

THE ROLE 

Field Services Officers utilise their building and construction knowledge to play a vital role in maintaining the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing portfolio. Field Services Officers operate within the Tenancy and Property Team and support the maintenance of department-owned property assets, including public housing properties and provide building advice on maintenance works.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  1. Accurately determine and assess the maintenance requirements for department-owned property assets, Secretary owned and public and community housing and ensure maintenance works requirements are delivered according to the department's frameworks, policies and processes.
  2. Support the management of vacant property inspections in accordance with vacant unit maintenance procedures and inspect community housing properties where required by the Housing Call Centre in consultation with community agencies.
  3. Undertake initial assessments and provide expert advice and recommendations for disability modification requests and major building rectification or asset protection activities as required.
  4. Participate in asset build, purchase, swap and disposal activities by providing expert advice and recommendations on proposals, conducting inspections with relevant stakeholders and documenting outcomes as required.
