Position Details
THE ROLE
The Capability Officer is a key role in developing and implementing capability initiatives (people - including surge options, systems, processes, governance, and resources); developing and implementing training, exercising and lessons management for continuous improvement; and contributing to various plans, processes and strategies to ensure the department is able to respond to emergencies impacting the Victorian community. The role contributes to the 24/7/365 roster and operational response to emergencies and provides important subject matter expertise during emergency operations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead or support programs and activities which support capability development (people, systems, processes, governance and resources).
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement, including contributing to the development of lessons management capability.
- Assist with the building and implementation of an emergency management Learning and Development program.
