Position Details

The Events Advisor plans and delivers professional, high-quality events for major departmental programs including regional events, all staff forums, departmental awards, and support ministerial events.

They will produce high quality event documentation, including event briefings, logistical information and run sheets, in line with agreed event processes and templates and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of all information.

The incumbent will work closely with branch colleagues, senior executives, ministerial offices and relevant business areas within the department to ensure that delivery of events is efficient, cost-effective, and is clearly aligned to the department's strategic plan. They will collaborate with the speechwriters and other teams across the branch.

As appropriate, they may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch as and when required, including participating in out of hours media and emergency rosters, providing support for public emergencies, large-scale communications campaigns and other high priority projects, to contribute the effective management of work across the Communications and Media Branch and department.


  1. Provide an account management approach to core service delivery and event management ensuring alignment to broader human service objectives.
  2. Produce high quality event documentation, including event briefings, logistical information and run sheets in line with agreed event processes and templates.
  3. Develop, deliver and evaluate event management strategies, deliver or oversee delivery of departmental events, and ministerial events as required.
