About the organisation

Homes Victoria is the new government agency managing Victoria's expanded social and affordable housing system. Homes Victoria remains within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and reports to the Minister for Housing.  Homes Victoria plays a stewardship role for the social housing system, managing all of Victoria's public housing, the homelessness system as well as deliver a landmark $5.3 billion investment in social and affordable housing, delivering over 12,000 new dwellings. 

About the role

In this newly created position the Director – Strategy (Affordable Housing and Social Investment) leads a unit responsible for the design of the delivery strategy for key commitments in the Government's $5 billion Big Housing Build initiative.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy, Governance and Partnerships, the Director – Strategy (Affordable Housing and Social Investment) will undertake complex policy analysis, develop implementation strategies and oversee market sounding and co-design.

The Affordable Housing and Social Investment Unit focuses on how to maximise the benefits of Homes Victoria's investment for the Victorian community. This includes in development social procurement targets and designing programs to increase social housing tenant employment; development of an implementation strategy for Homes Victoria's new affordable housing portfolio; and undertaking co-design and implementation planning for mental health supported housing.

About you

Tertiary qualified in public policy, economics, community services, health or a related field, you are a dynamic, adaptable and experienced leader who has led multi-disciplinary teams to achieve outstanding results, ideally in the community and/or mental health sectors.

You have exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to focus on shared outcomes. Your strong project and program design and management experience, coupled with your strategic and political acumen, will ensure your success in this critical role.
