POSITION SUMMARY

Are you:

  • Experienced in coordinating and capturing outcomes and supporting the delivery of large scale, fast-paced social infrastructure projects?
  • Able to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of projects (including feasibility, construction and design management, government procurement processes, town planning, tendering and contract administration) with a focus of identifying risks and establishing risk mitigation processes?
  • A dynamic team-player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, committed to delivering outcomes under tight timeframes?

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Principal Project Managers on a Fixed term-Full-time basis in Housing Development unit.

The Housing Development Branch is responsible for delivering end-to-end project and construction management for housing development projects originated by Homes Victoria. The Housing Development Branch turns the organisation's strategic directions into successful project outcomes, bringing commercial professionalism to the delivery of major housing projects for Homes Victoria.

Key accountabilities of the office include:

  • Management and oversight of a large portfolio of housing construction and development projects that are originated by Homes Victoria.
  • Project and construction management from design, project planning and financing, stakeholder management through to successful delivery of construction contracts on-time and within budget, including meeting relevant design and quality standards and government requirements.
  • Motivating, inspiring and empowering the development of a positive and engaged team with a clear focus on the delivery of outcomes and continued development of capability across the team.

The Senior Project Managers will work in a collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering the Government's agenda of increasing access to social and affordable housing for Victorians. The roles will require a dynamic, flexible candidate with experience in large-scale delivery programs, construction, design management and town planning processes. The roles will also require extensive project management experience, coordination of procurement processes, experience in providing authoritative advice, reporting and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver key capital project outcomes.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  1. Problem solving: seeks all relevant information for problem solving; investigates and probes for the facts; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems.
  2. Written Communication: Identifies key messages and information required for decision making. Provides authoritative advice on influencing and the needs of target audiences. Provides advice on the content and style appropriate for audience.
  3. Self-management: plans and prioritises work to ensure outcomes are achieved, resists the temptation to react immediately without taking time to think things through, uses strengths to contribute constructively and consciously manages the impact of own weaknesses, anticipates own reactions to situations and prepares accordingly.

MANDATORY VACCINATION POLICY
